How do you generate new ideas?
Reading and talking to people.
Name one business failure and what have you learned from it?
We had one client who was 80% of our total business revenues. With policy changes, they moved over to larger staffing companies and we eventually lost them as a client. The lesson learned was that we shouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket. We should have a number of sizeable customers.
What is your greatest business fear, and how do you manage it?
Over investing in hiring the right number or employees to manage business opportunities. I don’t have the recipe yet on managing it but I keep trying to bring on the right people.
How do you define success?
Making a Big Hairy Audicious Goal encompassing business, family and community and reaching it. And making more money than your wife can spend.
What has been your most satisfying moment in business?
Becoming a million dollar business in the 2nd year of business.
What is one thing that no one knows about you?
My single life.
Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?
Priceline, which came up with a great formula of leaving pricing in the hands of customers resulting in win-win for customers, clients and the middleman.
What is your favorite EO memory?
Flying in a hot air ballon on EO retreat for the first time.
